I have just bought a huawei e5776 and bought an antenna. I have plugged it it in but what do I do next? How do I know its working correctly or even working at all? Is there a way to test it or something to indicate the antenna is active?

Check signal strength before and after antenna is plugged in.

Well, is it working now? Have you tested before plugging in the antenna?
This is very odd, I used an external antenna with a E5332 - a lower model but very similar in design. I had no such issue - however, the external antenna barely made a difference, a few dBm at best. And I had the biggest nightstick available from Poynting.

Doesnt appear to be the antennas problem now. After a few hours of using the device it says "insert sim" without the antenna. Tried doing what I did the first time but continues to say "insert sim".
On the config page It says "The SIM card has not been detected or is invalid."

I have managed to get the sim card working by forcing it in and using blu tac to keep it in there. I spent 150 euros on a modem and have to use blu tac to make it work lol.
Another problem now though, I am connected to the 4g network and it seems very fast but every now and again a page will take over 10 seconds to load. Its like the net will freeze and do nothing, and then starts working fine again. I thought this could be a signal issue but signal is showing 4 bars

The device is E5776-32.
I read that the Sim card is suppose to click when inserting it. Mine doesnt click. I can only get it to click if I put it in the wrong way round. If I put it in the correct way round (the way it tells me to) then I dont get the click.
