Being acquainted with migraines, I literally have used everything in the past to attempt to stop it. Migraines are one of those things that simply ruin your life for the day. However, eventually, I did find a method that worked for me! I am very happy I didn’t have to resort to conventional medicine.

When you use salt to relieve migraines, make sure to use high quality salt such as Himalayan crystal salt. It’s the most complete salt in the world. It contains 84 minerals, electrolytes and elements – a fascinating number considering that there are only 118 elements known to science. Pretty sure all that will happen is I'll vomit my entire stomach out with intestines still attached. Then start bleeding from the nose.
 
I've only had one migraine my entire life, so I don't think I would have an opportunity to test this.
 
When it started talking about "high quality" salt it set off some alarms. Salt is sodium chloride, that's it, nothing more nothing less.

Here's the problem with the "minerals" in Himalayan salt.

The human body can only metabolise organic-attached minerals (ie from plants). The inorganic ones in water and various supplements pass straight through the system, though one or two, if concentrations are high, lodge in the eyes and can cause problems later on.
 
I use this pink salt in cooking, it is 98% sodium chlorine and may contain up to 10 other elements. The OP is a tree hugger, btw, they mine this in Pakistan.

After suffering for 50+ years with migraine headaches I found something that would stop a migraine headache in its tracks and reverse any symptoms in 30 minutes. It is a common vegetable found in any grocery store.

I give full credit to Dr Donald Lepore ND author of 'The Ultimate Healing System' book. He said in his book that migraines were caused by a sodium deficiency. Sodium here is not sodium chloride (table salt). In fact too much salt is a trigger substance that causes migraines. Dr Lepore then listed several foods that were high in sodium.

I also read that a persons blood pressure goes up and down during a migraine headache. I bought a blood pressure monitor and took my blood pressure during a migraine. The blood pressure went up at the start of a migraine and down about the time the pain starts. So I got to wondering if I could take something to lower the blood pressure and add sodium at the same time. I found it.

The solution was Celery juice. It absolutely stopped the migraine and removed the symptoms in 30 minutes or less. I juice
four stalks of celery and drink a shot glass (1 1/2 oz.) of juice. When I drank four oz. it caused diarrhea. I only drink the juice when I feel a migraine coming on or to lower my blood pressure.

My second best discovery for migraines is to put a pinch of potassium chloride under my tounge and let it disolve. This will slow or even stop the progression of the migraine and give you some time to get or make some celery juice. Potassium chloride is
simply a salt substitute made by Morton Salt Co and sold in grocery stores for a couple of dollars. I have a container of this salt substitute in my car, pickup, and work. I keep a fresh supply of celery juice in my freezer.

Magnesium supplements can reduce the frequency of migraine headaches. To use Epsom salts to help migraines:
Place a heaped teaspoonful of Epsom salts in the palm of one hand as soon as the first signs of a migraine begin.
Have some water ready in a glass in the other hand.
Toss the Epsom salts into the mouth with one hand and then with the other hand drink some water to wash it down.
If tossing the Epsom salt and washing it down is done in quick succession one will experience nothing of the extreme bitterness of the Epsom salt.
Darken the room and lie down for an hour or so.

Tips
Massaging the back portion of the neck is very helpful as it allows more blood to flow into the head. In combination with Epsom salts, it helps to stop a migraine in its track.
In most cases, if you drink caffeine (coffee, soda, etc.) it will help your migraine.
Heat applied to the center of pain, rather than cold, can be very therapeutic and ease the pain. Both of these factors suggest that in some migraines, an increase in circulation helps.
Take a fresh bay leaf, crush it in your fingers, hold it up to your nose, breathe in deep, wait, breathe in deep, wait, repeat this until you feel a sharp, cool pain in your sinuses. Stop. You'll feel as though you have to sneeze, but won't. This should make the migraine go away.
Take a little Epsom salt before eating butter or cream or whatever triggers a migraine attack.
If the migraine was not arrested at the very beginning, double the dosage of Epsom salts.
Avoid the bright sun especially at mid morning.
Get away from electronic screens, light (especially fluorescent), and noise. Take a nap. Then eat something if your blood sugar feels low.
If your migraine comes with nausea w/ vomiting. Sometimes it helps not to hold it back. Vomiting actually sometimes helps relieve some of your migraine pain.
Carry a small sachet of Epsom salts with you wherever you go.

Bolded tips helped for me. The rest I never tried yet. will do soon. Lying down is for mostly more painful that standing up!

Plants don't contain any minerals whatsoever, unless you're counting the odd silica phytolith.

Most salts ("high" or "low" quality) will have inorganic phases that dissolve in water or stomach acid, and will at least partially be absorbed by the body. NaCl is entirely inorganic, but eating it will cause your body to absorb sodium.

Salt mined from naturally-occurring layers will contain some potassium, magnesium, carbonate, sulfate etc., although this will probably not have major health implications.
