Hi all !

I recently upgraded from a 10meg line to a 20Meg. Now i am currency on ADSL2+ modulation and I want to switch to VDSL2. I have phoned my ISP which is MWEB, all they tell me is that they don't sell VDSL packages they only sell ADSL. The more I try to explain I want to be moved to VDSL2 modulation the more the agent says they only sell ADSL packages.

Should I talk to sales or tech support? How do I explain to them what I need them to do?

My line stats:

Using a ASUS DSL-AC52U router and also using the stability adjustment option to get a higher sync rate but intern this lowers my SNR value.
I am covered for VDSL on the Openserve website as well.

It sounds like you need to phone someone else. Or move the line rental to Telkom. They did mine. I used the local telkom rep on here IIRC but that was a couple of years ago.
It's such a tedious process to call telkom though. When my sync drops I can call MWEB and it's resolved in a matter of minutes. I can't understand why it's so difficult to move me to VDSL. Surely I can't be the only customer requesting this?

Keep trying until you find someone competent I guess, you can also ask them if they only sell ADSL what the 40Mbps accounts run on because 40Mbps is VDSL only.

Edit: Is your line with them or just the data?

I guess that's what I have to do yes. Have data and line rental with them.

Took me months IIRC - and I was with Telkom. The Telkom call agents didn't know the difference. I had to deal with the tech side. If you have the $$ for an extra month, order VDSL and cancel ADSL when they install. Personally I didn't see any improvement after the switch. LTE - now that was a different story.
Well if you pay R1600 a month for a DSL service, you bet I want the best this copper line has to offer. I can't go LTE, I use way too much data. With this package I have now my softcap is 2TB
