Hi there

I work from home, and where my desk is, (currently with Cellc), i get very poor Cell reception.
Most time the phone won't even ring.

So how do i go about finding the best network for my actual physical position.
Would it be a case of testing a prepaid sim card on every network, or is there a more cleverer better way?

You can always call the network you are with, and ask them to improve the signal for your location. We have done this for our offices.

That is a good idea, yes. But sometimes the signal strength indicator on a phone is inadequate. If you e.g. get 2 other networks showing full bar, then deliberately wrap your hands around your phone as best you can. After 10 seconds the signal will be degraded. You could find then 1 network still showing full bar (the signal is weaker but still above the full bar threshold), but another network could show 1 or 2 bars.

Some Samsung phones have built in signal meters in dBm which is a more convenient method than the "hand method".

But the above won't say anything about dropped call rates or network busy problems in your area.

Thanks guys, I'm going to test out a free / cheap prepaid I think , be great if someone offered this as a service
