How to "Throttle" on a Billion 5200GR4

I have somebody at my place who is a real bandwidth hog, so much so that it takes like 2 minutes for a myBB page to load, so I want to try and throttle him, I have a Billion Nashua BNA-5200GR4, so custom firmware is out of the picture, and it doesn't have the throttling function, but can I give my connection preference to his? I have spent ages looking though the settings in the process looking my self out with the ACL settings but I'm back, any help/ideas would be great!

you either need a better router, that can do this, or a gateway computer. if you have more than one network card, you can set up the network so all connections go through your PC before it hits the Billion. In that way you can shape, throttle, snoop, and do whatever else to the hogs' Internet using various free utilities.

Or you can just install Netlimiter.

NetLimiter 2 Pro isn't free and the person can just disable it whenever he wants.

Either get a MikroTik RB750 (~R500 incl VAT) or get a PC that would act as a Linux firewall/gateway like Smoothwall / IPCop or MikroTik RouterOS.

I've setup my MikroTik RB750 that it gives low priorities to downloads coming from download sites like RapidShare, and it also gives a low priority to downloads larger than 500kB and non-HTTP protocols
Like as soon as someone wants to browse, while another person is downloading stuff, the other person's stuff would be limited to like 64kbps while giving about 270kbps for the person who wants to browse.

ok, installing programs on the PC, setting up a PC as a router, and getting a new router are all out of the picture unfortunately, I was hoping somebody knew the settings on this type of router....

There is no way that you can throttle traffic using that cheap router of yours. I've gone through all its features and it doesn't even have a form of QoS!

The only thing that you might be able to do is to setup the firewall so that it blocks the traffic of the other person completely. It would be less of a hassle to just plug out the other person's cable or to tell him/her to limit their downloads themselves!
