Hi guys.
So I see a lot of you have 384kbps lines and didn't / couldn't yet download the latest 4GB BF3 patch.
Also seems like some of you are having trouble updating it using a copied patch.
The quick-guide below is trivial, but some of us (including myself) struggled a bit to get it working.
Here's how you do it:
Lastly: Thanks Dusty (Dusty36 in game) for my copy of the patch

The quick-guide below is trivial, but some of us (including myself) struggled a bit to get it working.
Here's how you do it:
- Get the patch from a buddy, it should be in an "updates" folder in his BF3 install folder. The patch is called "Xpack1". My buddy's "XPack1" folder was 2.9GB (Where the patch is supposed to be 3.9GB)
- Copy this to the corresponding folder on your PC
- Now open Origin, if it's already busy downloading the patch, stop it by clicking the "X" next to the status bar.
- In Origin, open up "Settings" in the top right corner.
- Under the "General" tab, tick "Keep installers after games have been installed"
- Now the important part: Where it says "Select where you want to store your game installers", set this folder to the folder you copied the "Xpack1" into. Now close Origin to make sure its saving your settings.
- You now need to restart Origin and maybe even BattleLog, I find it easiest to just restart your whole PC.
- Once Origin starts back up, it will look like its doing something, counting up towards something like 15.4GB or even 20GB, just let it go.
- Origin still downloaded another 133MB after this process on my PC, at least its not 3.9GB
- This is what worked for me and a couple of others, hope it helps another one of you out
Lastly: Thanks Dusty (Dusty36 in game) for my copy of the patch
