I'm also using a storm, and it works for me...

@skateboardt. The youtube app does not use the blackberry apn. Be careful you may just get a nasty surprise on your bill.

I think he's talking about Vision which is a youtube "client"
I tried it and it does indeed use BIS, so no need to worry!

how can you tell?

when i use it the BB icon and uppercase 3G are active, which means BIS is active. Same when i check status, tells me i'm connected through BIS

I'm on topup and can check my balance. It goes down when I used the app. Hence it cannot be going through the blackberry apn. I had the same experience when I used the youtube app. All my other apps use the blackberry apn and there's no charge.

ok interesting, when i use youtube app the apn changes, and i get a warning that i am switching to wap, but with vision the connection stays on BIS.

No its not - a new version of app world was launched and subsequently that link no longer works. I found a new method of loading app world, will post how when i get home.

How long before you get home ?

been struggling whole dam day , even tried using US proxies and ***** to fool BB

Perhaps purchase a MyMeg or MyGig bundle just in case and let it deduct any additional data using the internet APN from there.

Is this possible VodacomData to have a handset and data card share the same bundle.

Scenario ...

I got a Blackberry handset on a Talk XXX with a BES bolt-in , I got a 2gb bundle for use with 3G/HSDPA card , I use the Blackberry to browse and use applications on the "internet" apn and not the "blackberry" apn.

Would any charges come off the bundle that I got or would I be charged OOB ?
