How to use iPad 2 as Wi-Fi hotspot

The iPad I have has got iOS 5.1.1. I know on the iPhone 4, you can create a Wi-Fi hotspot with no fancy software installed. I could not find that setting on the iPad 2.

Is there an App, or setting or whatever that I must get in order to create that Wi-Fi hotspot on an iPad 2?

Step 1) Jailbreak your iPad

Step 2) Buy MyWi from Cydia store for about $19

Lexor is correct. This is an iPhone thing (and then only if your cellco allows it!) that was never officially baked into the iPad.

It was never officially baked into the iPad2. As mentioned it has since been added to the latest model.

Agree on that but I cannot get it to work in SA. Seems to be a carrier issue - in my case MTN.

Any solutions without JB'ing the iPad?

Casspir, have a look at this post http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php/431073-Ipad-quot-3-quot-and-Internet-Tethering there is a fix for MTN but i have not tried it yet but other folks says it works.

has anyone tried MyWi, and does it work well?
