How to verify PayPal?

Can anyone help me how to verify PayPal account..i tried linking PayPal to FNB by going to fnb--forex--paypal and so on but in end , it says that PayPal account needs to be verified first..rightly so..

Now, i have added bank card in my PayPal account..it is still showing there. There was no charge deducted on my transaction history and i didn't have to enter any code into PayPal (acc to what guidelines on FNB website says), the card just got added without it ....now, in PayPal , i can't see any option to verify account..there is only one option which says "add bank account" but when i click on this, it always gives an error....screenshots are attached for reference...

2. Has anyone tried storing funds in PayPal more than 30 days..?..talking to FNB PayPal customer service they say that funds would be reverted back to sender after 30 days but taking to PayPal customer service , they say that funds will always be there and no bank can put restriction on us .i think PayPal customer service people are correct ..

Are you trying to withdraw funds from PayPal?

If so check out Wise.com and forget FNB and their terrible hacky integration - you will save a fortune in commission and forex spreads as well.

The 30-day rule is a SARB capital control thing - technically you are required to offer up to a local "authorised dealer" any forex that comes into your possession within 30 days. i.e. you must hand over your USD to a local bank and take whatever ZAR they offer you, and be grateful. In practice I suspect this is barely enforced now. Nobody under 60 has a clue why the rule even exists, and I don't think PayPal is taking much initiative to help the SARB out either. They only just decided they'll start charging VAT for SARS like last week...

Hi .thanks for your reply , i had tried wise earlier but some or other error comes..it asked me for routing number etc which is used only for US..also, most of clients worldwide (atleast mine), they use PayPal and it is easier to integrate into a website for accepting payments

The fact that paypal here in SA has a customer care real person and not a bot, which I can connect to (that too just by dialing a South African number) is a major point for me to go for PayPal, other wise if you see all these things like paypal, remittly ,wise, transfer wise Payoneer, have extremely bad reviews in general on various other forums with people reporting their accounts getting frozen for no reason and no one to talk to, bcoz usually all these have only one customer care no and that is of US (sometimes not even reachable) and one has to do international call for it ...here for PayPal SA, it's just a domestic call . ...in some countries where I was earlier, paypal doesn't even have withdrawal option only ,can be used as paying ..atleast here, it has full functionality.

And to answer to your question, I just created a PayPal account today..I was already having a fnb one..No, I am not trying withdrawal, that will come later, just want to link paypal to FNB...

I'm not saying don't use PayPal, I'm saying use Wise between PayPal and FNB.

PayPal -> Wise -> FNB.

Wise gives you a US bank account number to enter at PayPal. You withdraw money from PayPal into Wise. You can then do the USD->ZAR conversion at Wise at much better rates than you'll get with FNB. Then you can do a ZAR transfer from Wise to FNB incurring no further fees.
