Hello all,

Someone I know has secured funds for humanitarian project and the donor will send funds via IPIP.
Where and how can they receive the funds?

Regards,

At their bank. The donor will ask for banking details and their bank will interact with the sending bank. It's a security measure

Thank you, donee is with Standard and they say they will accept SWIFT only.

No problem. All SA banks have SWIFT addresses - standard bank's is SBZAZAJJ. The donor should have a form that requests all the details - the recipient's bank will be able to assist with completing the form.

One word of advice - be on your guard when dealing with the bank over the phone especially with big numbers. Never trust that anyone calling you is who they say they are and that they are authorised to request info over the phone, even if your caller ID says it's them. Inside jobs are not unheard of. The minute bad actors get a whiff of any incoming $$ they will use every social engineering trick in the book to get you to slip up and give them the info they need to redirect funds. Wherever possible, go into the branch and only reveal info (never passwords or pins of course) if you initiated the call.

Thank you very much Daruk.
