Hi guys, I'm ISP-Crawling a bit after the MTN plague hit Afrihost.

A friend suggested that I should look at Plugg. On their website I found that their uncapped 4mb line is only R100 more than what my AH 35GB Account was.
(Plugg's capped accounts are crazy expensive).

Does anyone know how their 4mb Uncapped line performs when gaming on a Friday night? (Peak times)

Ask for an trail account..got mine in 20mins(4mb uncapped)

I can't fully test my account at the moment..had only a hour on it but the latency was a bit high :/..Telkom suspended my line for no reason so strugling to get back on..

But as soon as i get back online ill have a good go at the account..

Their accounts are semi shaped so this should be very good for after hour use..and plus their uncapped pricing are good..

Just give them a ring and they'll get you a test account..friendly staff

Have not had any issues with Xbox Live online via 4mb Plugg.

I'm using mine mostly for playing World of Warcraft on a european server and did not have any problems since I was forced to leave Afrihost on the 6th of November because of the really cr@ppy service Afrihost started supplying the day after they debited aour account and which is still continuing up till today.
I got my Plugg account on 6th November and this is pure internet joy unlike some other companies try and claim.

I can vouch for PLUGG, after dropping Africrap and their lies.

Very nice tech supplied me with a trial account for 4Mb uncapped and so far it's been just fine.
1) ~200ms on EU WoW servers, CONTANTLY no spiking or dropping.
2) ~2Mb/s speed during business hours, as we've all experienced this IS shaping. (imho it's reasonable)
3) Line running at full speed after hours (~3.6 Mb/s)
4) Really fast response times on this account, and also stability - NO irratic behaviour like that MTN cesspool.

That sounds pretty good. I'll see if I can get a trial account to try this weekend.

How did you cancel you AH account? I saw on the client zone that I can just click cancel. Does that mean my account will be dropped immediately, or at the end of the month? (Friday)

Will not be dropped immediately , you get to finish out the month . Cancellations have to be done before the 25th to avoid a followup month :/

i moved to plugg from afrihost. best move ever. proper internet unlike afrihost (even when they were on IS)

Had a big problem with Telkom suspending my line due to their system that kicked a wrong acc number on my invoice(so paid for someone else :/) all fixed now luckely..

But had a test account from Plugg for 4 days..my luck is that Telkom suspension was on this test period..

The kind and friendly Plugg staff said it's no problem ,they'll extend my test till Monday ..

I have to say,Youtube on 1080p doesn't buffer! on my 4mb line..

Downloads are running at full speeds( 360-420kbps)
Browsing is very quick
Torrents run nice as well ..

Oh and this is all in business hours :)

So you're saying Afrihost(ex- IS) which was good..wasn't even as good as Plugg is now?

yes but obviously IMO. rarely get disconnects with the same equipment. only thing that changed is ISP. even prior to the move i used to get disconnects, random slow downs etc.

Agreed, remember AfriHost was just a reseller of I.S., while Plugg *IS* I.S.

You are basically buying directly from I.S.
