HP 6510B Screen issue

I have an HP6510B small lines have developed at the bottom of the LCD almost like they haven't turned on.

Could this be software related, would a re-install help or is it most likely a hardware failure?

I found out the issue some clever spark spilt coffee on the corner of the screen, I managed to replace it with a screen from an old Sony Vaio worked a treat pics here ->
