Hi

So I have a problem with my printer HP 8500. A couple of weeks ago it just stopped working, and to me it seems that the power adapter is at fault. I have checked around a few places, and the cost it seems is +- R 450.
And they wont allow a return if if the power adapter is not the issue.

To me its a lot of dosh to spend and possibly lose.

My question:
1. Any idea where I can get one on the cheap.
2. Anyone in the Durban area has one I can borrow to test.

Alternatively may just go and get a new one - was thinking of the HP Advantage series - 3525. Games had it on special but Pavilion never had stock, or the guy said we had 2. That is ridiculous.
Any thoughts on a good home printer (max R1k) - must be colour and have scan and copy options. Fax option not required.

The price is around about what you can expect to spend for a replacement because it needs to be imported, also it's most likely a genuine HP product like the one I found here: HP 0957-2262 Ac Power Adapter - R372.00

If you do get a new printer I would recommend a Canon. I would specifically recommend this one here: Canon PIXMA iP7240 A4 Photo Printer - R968.00

Reason is that it has this single ink technology where you just replace the colour that is low instead of replacing the whole cartridge.

The HP 3525 has the same tech and that uses the Ink Advantage system, you can print up to double the yield of normal cartridges and go check them out, they cost like R130 per cartridge, awesome value for money. Not even forgetting the ePrint stuff, email your prints to printer..

Post a pick of the label & connector on the PSU.

Here it is. 1st time posting an image via tapatalk so hope it's fine.
