HP 8710w gfx drivers

Hi All

I have a HP 8710w laptop, and it has a Nvidia Quadro Fx1600 card (8700gt based) . The card performs very well, even with games. Only problem is, the official hp drivers are only at 174.70 (released march 2008), and the nvidia drivers are sitting at 181.20. Does anyone know where to get updated HP drivers, as HP itself has nothing. Second prize would be to run the stock nvidia drivers somehow. On linux, I run the stock nvidia drivers no problem, since that is all that is available.

Why don't you use NVTweak to OC the card a bit. I know from experience that you can probably gain 25% extra with the Quadro cards. I could in my Inspiron anyway.
 
Well, my problem isn't really performance, it just ticks me off that HP are so sluggish with driver updates. I will give NVtweak a go anyway. A couple of extra fps can't hurt :p
 
I dont see what the problem is. Just install the latest nvidia drivers...
 
The stock nvidia drivers simply tell you that it will not install, and you need to get the drivers from the notebook manufacturer. I heard you can hack the driver inf file to allow installation, but I don't have details. It is so frustrating as their own stock Linux drivers install fine.

Guru3D are updated drivers that have been hacked so you might get lucky.
