I have no idea if this is put in the right subforum but if it isn't, please move it :)

OKAY SO I have this printer. HP Deskjet D1600.

EVERYTIME I print something, the print job just... Stops? I am not actually sure what the issue is but the page just sits halfway through the printer and the on/off switch is flickering.

The usual things that I do are:

  1. Hold down the on/off switch in hopes something happens.
  2. Unplug the printer from USB/Power and hope it wakes up when replugged in and turned on.
  3. ATTEMPT to cancel the print job but it never cancels.
  4. End process "spoolsv.exe" (that's worked for me before).

Sometimes even restarting the PC doesn't help and the thing gets stuck again.

Why does this happen? I've updated software, drivers etc. and the printer has ink. So I am stuck as to what the issue is and I need to print things urgently so destroying the printer (as much as I want to) is not an option.
