HI Everyone

This has prob been asked before but hey give me a brake.

I am looking at using the HP microserver as a NAS device running freenas.

I am currently using backup exec 11d to backup my 5 HP servers to a external SCSI HP tape drive. This drive has been replaced like 4 times in the past 4 years and it leaves me with about 3 - 4 days without a backup. Looking at using this as a second backup to the tape drive.
I want to setup the backup exec to backup to this NAS device using backup-to-disk-folder.

anyone ever tried this or could suggest a better option. I dont want to go out a pay for new backup software. Bear in mind i do full backups of all 5 servers including system states.

Your insite would help.

You can do disk-to-disk-to-tape backups with minimal extra overhead or just create extra backup jobs to disk only. I like option1

Gnome uses the dock so he can easily use the fifth SATA port, as the Microserver only has 4 bays. 4 drives might be enough for your application.
