Quick one boys do you get any stuttering when playing media off it?
I am playing an HD movie via the machine. Using GT218 card via HDMI to TV.

Seems to stutter.
Any ideas?
Using plex

20 questions:
Is it playing at 24Hz refresh rate?
What is the size of the movie and length in time (datarate)?
How bad is the stutter?
What is the source, an internal disc or usb of wifi?
What is the file system on the disc?
Have you tried openelec off a flash disc?

Samsung TV's both have plex native built in

Openelec works perfectly after installing. ive seen plex stutter but this was on a raspberry pi

You are not locked in to use plex cause your tv has it in the menu. Your HDMI cable only outputs video and sound, in no way can it communicate with PLEX in your TV's software through this. I vote for using openelec, I use it with micro server and gt210 and works flaweless 1080p HD master audio etc...

Are you playing back directly from the Microserver or are you streaming from the Microserver to your TV? If it's the latter then it sounds like the Microserver is choking as it is isn't really powerful enough to transcode 1080p streams which Plex sometimes requires.

I have the same experience as mentioned on this thread as well. The microserver with the Gfx card is cool for XBMC. I am using normal windows with it. Not even openelec.
But Plex is a bit heavy with the transcoding. It uses only the cpu, the Gfx card can't help with that.

Let me explain,
The server is running straight via HDMI to TV1
Thats when it stutters.

I am using that server as my media server.

The TV I have both of them are Samsung on the network and they have plex as an app, so how would one run a movie on the server then? If not using plex client to connect to that server?

The file is HD , 720p.
Seems to stutter badly at times

Or how would XBMC work then if the TV does not ave it as an app?

Now install Plex Home Theater and use that on the server instead of the Plex app on the TV.

This will solve your stuttering issues. You may just have to fiddle to get your sound sorted if you are running a receiver but shouldn't be too difficult.

Just remember to turn on DXVA in the settings once you have it installed.
