Hi,

I got an HP printer for free from a friend. It's an HP OfficeJet 6500.

When I turn it on, it goes into a loop where then screen keeps saying "Warming up". I tried resetting it by holding in 3 + # on the keypad but that doesn't seem to do anything.

Can anyone recommend anything else without taking it into a repair shop?

And if I have no other choice but to take it in, where can I take it?

Thanks

Francois

While it is on, try opening up all the trays, take out the ink cartridge, then put it all back together and see what happens.

It seems to fix ours at work :)

Have you loaded the HP drivers so you can access the diagnostic toolbox from the PC??

Did you use this method?

Make sure the printer is on.
Pull the power cord from the printer.
Pull the power cord from the wall.
Wait 30 seconds.
Plug the power cord into the wall, but do not plug the printer in.
Hold down the 3 and # buttons.
While holding the buttons, plug in the printer.
When the lights come on, let go of the buttons.

Yes that's exactly what I did.
