Some pretty scary stories about Letmerepair out there......

Dangerboy, you signed up just to tell us that?

Took the words right out of my mouth...or keyboard. LMR - stay away, be warned, worst service company I have ever experienced. Your printer will come back in pieces with bits missing and in a far worse state that you sent it to them.

yep, I've been browsing "mybroadband" forums for the past few days now since it's the only forum not blocked by the company I've finally decided to sign up,
and wanted to do my good deed for the day :p , also I work for HP SA and LMR is our main repair centre that's why i recommended them.:)

If i may ask , would you guys like to elaborate on the experiences you've had LMR and also which branches so that something can be done to prevent all future "bad" experiences.:o

never take anything to LetMeRuin(it) unless it's a warrantee item.

Service/minor repair:
You will be lucky if you get it back in a kinda ok order 6weeks later.

Also with old printers they simply state that the machine is out of date & you must replace it. :( when the repairs could be done at a reasonable price....

The company as a general???

sadly LMR is the service agents for HP. Though the product is good their after sales service is poor thanks to LMR. It would be best to take an item to an independent repair company rather than there.

Ther is a place in Rivonia oppositie Rivonia Primary that does servicing and repairs. Once took my printer there and they did a good job. I just can't remember its name.

One needs LMR as one needs a hole in the head. They are the most incompetent unreliable useless bunch it has ever been my burden to deal with. They are more likely to wreck your device to a greater extent than fix anything.

It has astounded me continuously for years that HP ( which is supposed to be vaguely reputable as a consumer brand ) persist with them in the face of deluges of complaints. I even went to the main HP website and asked them why they still use LMR in SA - as expected no reply.

So I advise anyone and everyone to keep a bargepole between them and purchasing any HP consumer goods, when the occasion arises, which is virtually daily.

I've delt with both the Midrand & George branches. There have even been occasions of goods handed in for warrantee being lost.
Goods going in in good physical condition but coming out very badly sratched & looking poorly.
Ordered goods telephonically (they had a few), do eft, confirm order via email with payment attached. Got a reply goods will be couriered. Wait a week, nothing arrives. They have the order but it was never invoiced, waited 3 months before the part arrived...

Do you really want me to go on?

Yep...Let Me Repair is useless! My printer has been there three times already for the same problem, and it's still faulty. Just don't have the energy to go through all the hassles again. Printer is still under warranty though. HP is also not what it used to be.

The after sales service makes me run far away from anything HP. Never again! Sorry HP...your loss!

BAD HP !!

Supplied a HP 1522nf MFP to a client 60 days ago ... now the ADF is faulty . 2 options ..

1st send it to LMR and wait becasue rep who answered the phone says she's unable to give me an ETA on the repair. This wont cost anything , apparently. ??

2nd log a callout with HP and they send a techie to you and repair it onsite... this wil cost R 2900.00 + vat , will take +- 3 days. This is only to replace the ADF...

Anyone wanna guess how much the whole printer cost when supplied ....a hint , less than a new ADF !!

I'm going to go out on a limb here, what is the onething that Ap0c has here that those of us experienced bad service from LMR has, yes that's right someone who works for HP.

They are the official guys so i think he should take it to them if possible and with the help of Mr Dangerboy007, i trust things can only run more smoothly and lets not forget that LMR is now within the CPA act so perhaps i am being too generous but it won't hurt to try.

I have personally dealt with LMR in DBN and their service although not the speediest and best, i was kept in contact via SMS updates (the things you get to do with your personal cellphone no for a retail company :p).

Send it through and let us know what happens. The light is already in front of us as consumers, its only if we choose to go towards it :D....

Edit: Just confirm their quote rejection fee aswell if you don't want it repaired, theres no way of not paying that fee if you don't want it repaired.

the CPA only applies to goods/services sold asof 01 April.

cell contracts signed on the 31st of March will also still be bound by the old law/T&C's.

Likewise with the printer as it was sold about 60 days ago...
