What graphics card did you add to it? Would be cheap to go from DVI-I to VGA with an adapter.
btw I am sure the N54L comes with an on-board VGA port...

Asus Xonar DSX should be somewhere in the R500 to R600 range. USB is an option, but something decent will likely only save you a R100 or two, and personally I just don't like having more sticky-outy dongly bits than necessary. Wifi and wireless desktop dongles are already two too many.

Sorry, I wasn't too clear there. I bought a Gigabyte GT 210 graphics card as well, only getting it tomorrow.

To get to VGA from it buy a cheap dvi to vga converter.http://www.pricecheck.co.za/offers/975655/Unbranded+DVI-I+to+D-SUB+Converter/

With Arthur's suggestion you'll get VGA + audio from it -but at a price...

I am using a DVI->VGA converter on my PC now. Mine doesn't look blurry at all. Just, you know, putting that out there :erm:

Just ordered myself a GT210 & some extra Ram. R600 from Takealot. The quote from PCI was almost R1000.

Not blurry at all. A simple cable won't do as you need a DAC circuit to convert digital hdmi to analogue vga.

If you install the drivers a audio device is added, NVIDIA High Definition Audio.

Don't use PLEX, but other than that, got GT210, and sucessfully play media through HDMI.

Normal Ubuntu Home Server, no other wierd workarounds were required from my part.
