Probably been asked a number of times... but is anyone running a TV tuner card in the microserver? Pointers on what to look for/avoid? Moving to a new place now and going to be a drag laying coax to the bedroom. Thinking of getting TV signal to Microserver and then hooking up to that via IP from RasberryPi in the bedroom... Haven't looked too much into this so please don't flame too much if it's a crap idea - just a thought at this stage.
Where do I find the modded bios to enable full speed on the ODD sata? Something reliable with instructions.

I have the BIOS files somewhere if you want them... just send me a PM and I'll mail them to you
If I remember correctly, assuming you have the modded BIOS already
1) you download the original BIOS from the HP website. Lately its for registered users only, so just Google the file name and you will find it
2) Install the original BIOS update to a flash drive
3) Replace the original BIOS binary with the modded binary. Make sure that the file name is exactly the same as the original binary, or edit the batch file to reflect the modded BIOS' binary file name
4) plug the flash drive into the microserver
5) power up the microserver and wait until you get the c:\ prompt
6) reboot with the flash drive removed
7) ???
8) profit
Here's a link to a forum, the N54L and N40L is essentially the same

Lost my keys for the server on Saturday and my usb is inside. Will have to trash the house to find them.![]()
They are supposedly stock standard. Should if you need copies made.
Does this support the full speed on the optical sata? Seems to be fixing Windows Server problems according to the release notes.
Has anyone, who uses Ubuntu server on their microserver, updated from 12.04 LTS to 14.04 LTS? Hoping for some insight with regards to ease of update process, advantages, disadvantages, etc.
Funny enough I did this exact switch a couple days ago. I was just curious so replaced Win 7 with Ubuntu 12.04, I had some trouble with sound over HDMI though so did the upgrade to 14.04.
Did the whole process over SSH from my laptop - the system moans about doing over SSH but I didn't have any issues. I did however have to use the -d (I think that was it) switch to go from 12 - 14.
Happy so far - everything is working, just had some tweaks to do in Catalyst to get video right (tearing) and one change for sound to work properly out of XBMC - nothing major, just sounded tinny - but all is well now.
In terms of pros/cons, other than my audio actually working now there isn't all that much else. Boot times are about the same and everything works as it did before/as expected.
I did however switch to Lubuntu desktop... Kinda like the minimalistic feel![]()
