HP ProLiant MicroServer

While I strongly believe in integrated solutions (GPU in the CPU or mobo) in the case of the N54L I made the exception and added a dedicated sound card as well as a Radeon HD 7500. I play older games like UT3 and UT2004 on it without any problems. I won't be getting the new MicroServer as I only use AMD computers.

Making me think to get two old ones for the boys because with gpu they should be able to handle most games. Want to get them Rome II so maybe reconsider mitx system I am building for eldest.

If I had to buy right now I would get a Athlon quad-core Kabini 5350 with mini-ITX board. Those can be had for about R1k and for the money it beats anything else.

I will try my best not to derail this thread but my reason for not supporting intel is plain and simple because they are evil. We need competition in the x86 market and since the 386 intel has displayed some very anti-competitive behaviour. I therefore try to buy AMD or VIA when it comes to x86 or even better, use non x86 devices.

/OT

The exact reason I suspected - and I can respect that.

That being said I do enjoy my Dell Optiplex 9010 with i7, but that is standard company issue so I have no control over it.

Edit
I am ...

Running intel but support amd. Then again I also drive an OPC :p

Does someone have a windows guide for sabnzbd, sickbeard and couchpotato?

Also, I installed a graphics card with hdmi into a microserver, connected it to the tv and it works fine but I can view the desktop on a normal monitor thats also plugged into the microserver.

Any idea how I can fix the issue? The microserver will be used for normal windows 7 on the monitor amd xbmc on the tv via hdmi.

Thanks

Use extended desktop In graphics settings,

Your setting should have a setting to either extend display or view same desktop on both displays.

Theres no option to select extended display. The monitor is plugged into the onboard vga port and the tv into graphics card. Should I try and update the drivers for the onboard graphics? The windows on the microserver is Win 7 ultimate.

Usually when using a graphics card onboard vga is disabled.

Does your graphics card not have vga?
