HP ProLiant MicroServer

Hello. Does anyone perhaps know when/if a group buy will be happening for these microservers? Looking to purchase one, best price I have got is R1919 (maybe someone can beat it?) :) Thanks in advance :)
Thats a very good price. Doubt you will find it cheaper elsewhere.

k, so trying to get 8.1 on my MS, but don't seem to be having any luck

keeps getting stuck at GETTING DEVICES READY

now I see mention of Disabling the NIC and then also mention of a BIOS update...

however the BIOS update seems to be one for Windows Server 2012 R2 and when I go and try and download it (well from the HP support page I went to), it tells me I need some kind of care package blah blah blah...

so, has anyone had any such issues and luck solving it?

it's an N54L, trying to install on an SSD and I have a wireless kb and mouse connected (el-cheapos.. mention cause I see also people say disconnect/disable USB stuff)

I'm no windows 8.1 guru but I would think going into Safe Mode then checking Device Manager for any hardware that needs drivers is a first step. My money is on the wireless keyboard and mouse trying to connect to the net to look for drivers.

Problem is the NIC network card. Prior to the Win8.1 you need to update the bios for the install to work correctly.
Check on the wiki page for the n54l. Someone posted the link without having to go through HP bloat.

+1 had to update the bios to get win 8.1 working. I had the same "getting devices ready" issue. NL40

I have 2 new N54L Microserver's that I am thinking of selling. Got them for family and now they are not interested.

Hi, So after waiting for responses from various places the servers are all going from R2300-R3700. The servers listed for R1919 were from an expired price in a database that was published onto the companies website. Best bet is to get one from Takealot for R2199 :) Sorry to disappoint, just as bummed this side.

Anyone looking for spares? I think the mobo in mine is dead. It "turns on" but doesn't boot up, lights on, fan spinning etc. I think the best is to split it up for spares as I already replaced it with the "spare" N54L I had lying around. I also have a GT210, HP infrared receiver and a harmony 700 I'm not using.
