After installing a graphics card and connecting tv to it. I dont have sound when using WHS 2011 but sound plays when watching movies. Shows under windows there is no sound device yet hdmi connnection to microservers onboard hdmi output was fine.
Settings in bios?

actually did this last week - making a gamble that paid off.

Only challenge i discovered was on trying to install windows - had to partition one of the drives to MBR ( thus 2TB partitions only), which i didnt like.

ended up putting in a spare 250GB OS HDD in the top tray - problem solved :).

Really amazed at the performance of these boxes

I'm using openelec not windows + xbmc. Setting I needed to change was audio device in xbmc.

You WHS sound problem sounds more like a windows setting issue though.
 
Will check but nothing in whs settings could activate sound device. Thus bios maybe.
