HP ProLiant MicroServer

Trying to remove the system board tray to install new RAM (to 8GB). But I can't remove the black cable with chrome-metal clip near front-left of the MBoard. Anyone know how to remove this cable? How does the plug work?

Edit: Ah, it just came loose. No need to hassle. Thanks.

Lol, I upgraded to 4gb 2 days ago - had the exact same problem. Googled it and someone suggested using a screwdriver or knife, it worked

I eventually decided to put Win7-64 Ultimate on the N40. Two 3TB Seagates converted to GPT. Now imaging the system drive with Acronis. All media and data copied from "old" server (which had 6 spindles in 9 partitions).
Lovely box this. Can't believe it took me so long to get one.

Hi guys,

I finally got around to trying to get my Harmony 900 to chat to my HTPC (Which is, of course, a MicroServer) and it seems that the HP Media Center IR receiver I ordered off of eBay is faulty, as it doesn't pick up when connecting it to my Windows PC, nevermind the XBMC Live running HTPC.
So, I'm looking for a XBMC Live compatible USB IR receiver. Any suggestions as to where I can find one? Local retailers don't seem to stock them much.

Hey Guys
can anybody recommend a good remote for XBMC and also where to buy in Cape Town. It must be bluetooth or ir, thanks.

R1359 @ cybernatic - after delivery almost R160 cheaper than hpshop:D

Hehe R1244 delivered. Bonus of being able to use company's buying power for personal stuffs ;)
Still need to find an ir receiver though.

First of all, Bullseye thanks for your awesome work

I've installed in my N40L with gt210 and it works great. But now, I've a problem, when I try to mount a hdd with my media library the system asked me for the super user password (authenticate) and I can´t find it in the forum

I'll try to make a similar work but with the 64 bit version, I want to see how it works with 8gb RAM and a 16Gb pendrive for the OS (really for the cache, subtitles, addons, etc.)

Thanks in advance for you help
Greetings

Ah, damn >.< I blocked SU access somewhere along the line, will have to re-enable it. I'll have a new upload ready this evening. I can do it remotely if you can load teamviewer so that I can drop in from here.

Alternatively: http://www.psychocats.net/ubuntu/resetpassword will explain how it's done, use it to reset the "support" password, and you're golden :)

Bullzeye, Thank You!

It was so easy! Now everything works fine

There's another detail that you can check before upload, It seems that you have a network mapped drive (crystal...) and the system try to load it at boot

Once again, THANKS, I'll tell you how it goes with the amd64 version

In terms of noise I can tell that it's on but it's not at all annoying.
