HP ProLiant MicroServer

Hi guys. I am currently stuck, got my N40L.
Now i need a LP card.
What do you suggest?
Have seen the GT520 & HD5450 mentioned, which if there are more works right out the box or with minimal config needed for Openelec & / Ubuntu?

Nvidia.

Although both will work with openelec, ati needs some tinkering on Ubuntu.

i think the gt520 might be the easiest

Thanks GrootBaas have already ordered the MSI AMD Radeon HD 5450 PCI-Express x16 2.1 - GDDR3 1GB - 64-Bit

Can anyone recommend a really good WiFi USB 300n dongle they have bought locally for the HP Microserver?

Hey all. Has the question been answered ? I moved my router to where MServer is to connect via cable , but 3g is terrible to say the least. I'm moving the router back to where it was and want to connect the HP via wifi ( running a cable is a logistical nightmare ). im using openELEC XBMC . I know with windows any adapter should be fine since i can load the drivers but that extra expense I cannot afford without involving a divorce lawyer.
Anybody got a dongle sucessfully working with openELEC ?
Sharp

Hi Guys

i am super keen on getting one of these. Can I install Windows Home Server 2011 on it?

I will mainly be using it as a download pc. Already have an ac ryan media player

Yes. It's a pc...

The HP N36L/N40L actually comes standard with ECC memory. (It is a server even though a small one

ECC and ECC Reg are not the same thing ;)

My N40L did not come with ECC RAM, but 2GB Samsung desktop RAM.

It may just mean you have to get your hands dirty a little.... but then that's half the fun of it, né?

Im used to it & there is lots of help here ;)
But just wanted to find something that would give least problems in setting up.
Also didnt want to break the bank in doing it.
She already asked wtf is this BOX?

Why do you say that?
What problems would there be with it?

well there are some version of XBMC that have problems with ATI cards.
ATI and linux/ubuntu do not mix very well, afaik....

i think kayvee is running OpenELEC and if his is working, don't worry :)

would this fit in ? as i was going to get it after work.

You are going to need one with a half height bracket, just check if they supply one with. Some do, some don't. It's usually stated on the box.

Yup I am running openelec, but admittedly not upgraded to Eden yet, so it may all change when I do :erm: ;)
