HP ProLiant MicroServer

Woot! Received my microserver+ gt610 + 4gb ram today. :D

Gonna set up xbmc and everything else a bit later.

you might want to post what exactly "worked" to fix your problem, just in-case someone else reads this 3 weeks down the line.

If you used igeorge's advice, maybe you can even help him!

Im afraid my success was short lived. Upon enabling the username and password, I could log into the htpc but could not copy anything to it. So, Back to square one...

Sounds like a permissions thing. I see the samba user for Openelec is named openelec, but the only account that has full write permissions on the system is the root account. The Openelec smb user does have group permissions and this works fine on my linux box but maybe there is an issue with the Windows machines.

Maybe try and change the Samba user in the Openelec settings in XBMC to root and password openelec. See if this helps.

Thanks DrJZ
I assumed it was a permissions thing too. When you say the root and password do you mean the username and password or what?
In settings, openelec settings, Samba I only have a username and password.

Thanks

Yes. Try this:

Username: root
Password: openelec

That is the default ssh password too, I assume it creates a new user for you anyway though when you enter new details in here.

was also struggling to copy
out of the blue just didnt want to copy anything sayine i need more space
not sure what happened but its working now after a restart...

Mypro have you tried just editing the samba config file like i've suggested?

I am looking at getting a N40L to use as a HTPC.
Anyone know of, or use a "Supported" LP GFX card that has a S-Video out?
