Client has an HP photosmart C5283 All-in-One, New it costs around R1700.
The problem with it is the USB port physically got damaged, I was quoted for a new board R4160 incl.
If anyone knows any parts suppliers like 2nd hand even, post here please.

What exactly is broken? Is it just the physical port or the circuit board as well.
Thanks for the link, the porst are quite cheap I see. It is physical port, the 4 pins were sheared off and also multilayer PCB board so makes difficult / impossible to solder.

I tried soldering a USB cable straight onto the board, doesn't detect on the PC so I suspect that port is blown as well. Judging by how the USB B receptor broke it's possible that Positive went to Ground on the board and the signal + and - would have done the same. (Customer did try use it after it broke)

Ah well, that HP photosmart C5283 is EOL and the replacement model - C4683 cost just R900 (my retail price). Add the two ink cartridges at R600 odd for the blown printer and it becomes no brainer to replace with the new model.
