I picked up a second hand HP Tape Library for a bargain. I want to know what a reasonable re-sale price would be for something like this.

It's this one: http://h30094.www3.hp.com/product/sku/10446219

It's the tape library unit, plus the tape drive upgrade.

I see there are a few of these units on e-bay and are quite pricey but they aren't easy to resell. For instance here is just the tape drive upgrade that somebody wants R4k for: http://www.ebay.com/itm/HP-AG328B-M...Tape_Data_Cartidge_Drives&hash=item2a35f058f8

Any ideas on how much and where I should try and sell it?

:p

Just powered it on, everything working like it should. This thing is a beast. Uptime is sitting at just over a year which is hardly anything. Had 5 1.6TB tapes inside still.

Just going to put it up in classifieds and see what happens.

Thanks for nothing :D

It's huge too!

Finally got my tape library up and running. Picked up a Qlogic QLE2462 Fibre HBA off Ebay for a few hundred bucks.

This set up would have cost around R120k new, I have it running for under R2k, albeit it second hand. Bargain of the year I'd say.
