Well ever though about getting this device, how does this device with gingerbread, 10 point-multi touch, and it will be officially the fastest and cheapest android device out there, o yes and like webOS, well no worries it can be dual-booted along with android :)

Have Fun and feast your eyes:

now only if we had the touchPads in SA for the $99 mmmmm

Where can i find the touchpad online for $99, it's worth importing.

I heard somewhere that HP will release more.

Not to kvetch or anything but...... I just cannot get excited about porting a device from WebOS to Android. EVERY FREAKING TABLET is either Android or IOS. WebOS was genuinely interesting. I used a Palm Pre for a while and it was awesome. I'm truly gutted that HP aborted it and people are getting excited about another bland bloody Android clone.

The only good thing about the TouchPad is WebOS. The hardware is lacklustre.
And there is certainly nothing appealing about Android.

Haters gonna hate :)
I don't hate the TouchPad at all. We evaluated all the different tablets for over a month at my company (We had a TouchPad bought from the USA) and the TouchPad was the unanimous second choice behind the iPad. It simply has a far superiour UI to Samsung's and Motorola's Android and Blackberry Tablet OS. It's hardware, however, wasn't even as good as the Playbook

Exactly! HP's entire board of directors should be ritually disemboweled for the way they mishandled the Palm acquisition. Do you actually relish the prospect of a future where Android and IOS are the only viable smartphone platforms around? Ok WP7 is also a contender. But WebOS in my view is a superior mobile platform than Android. Android sucks. I use it every day, I'm even pretty good at it, and in my view it sucks.

*yawn* this hating at mobile os stuff is so last year guys.
If you crybabies want a familiar tablet then buy a mecer slate running windows 7 and have done with.
Hp have said that due to the demand they might continue with webos after all. I think the demand was just created by a $99 tablet personally.

I'm not actually hating on mobile OS's... I don't mean to rant at Android. I'm hating at HP for killing off a genuinely interesting piece of development by Palm, who are legends in mobile.

I cant argue with that at all, I was a huge palm fan back in the days.
There is no reason they could make a viable OS and since I know little about WebOS I cant really say how good it was. There is always more room in the market for players with genuine innovations so I say bring them on.
