I also say : Go for dell...

Go to www.dell.co.za, choose "Laptops" ==> Vostro-series ==> Vostro 1700 ==> "Best" ==> Put in 2GB RAM, and 500GB HDD.

You bascially have R14 500 for a 2.5GHz dual Core, and an added 3year warranty. :P

I'm a bit blind this morning, could you highlight the extras here which i'm not getting on the other two quotes! I'll take it you say dell is better than HP & MSI???? Why

Go to dell.co.za

Build a laptop on the site.. print the quote then phone them cause they dont sell ot the public anymore... they will give you a reseller who will give you the same or a better price..

I think the HP is better...;)

I think the HP is better...;)
It has only a WXGA display.
I would never again work with a display with less than SWXGA+ 1650x1050 resolution. While a 15" screen at that res makes for quite small text a 17" should work nicely.

I think it doesn't matter any more because he probably already bought something, considering the date :p
