HSBC Sevens - SA leg

That was awesome to watch. What a spectacular comeback, and a fittingly poetic tribute to Madiba. It was actually quite a moving thing to watch...
 
Just got home now. Couldn't have asked for a better ending to the weekend.
 
SA Kiwi fans spat at Blitzbokke

South Africans supporting New Zealand reportedly spat at team members of the Springbok Sevens team after they beat the All Black Sevens side in Port Elizabeth on Sunday.

The Blitzbokke beat New Zealand 17-14 to win the third tournament of the IRB Sevens World Series in what was a timely tribute to recently deceased former president Nelson Mandela.

However, celebrations were somewhat soured when a few South Africans misbehaved while the Blitzbokke were doing a victory lap around the field.

SuperSport rugby writer, Brenden Nel, who was at the stadium reporting on the tournament, revealed the following via his official Twitter account:

"Bok Sevens team members tell how they were sworn at and spat at by South African All Black supporters on their victory lap. Classy."

Other than that them ruining the ending, it was an amazing event.
Great crowd, great rugby, etc etc etc.

Western Cape as well as Uitenhage.

What got to me most is when the team came out to warm up and they started booing. Fortunately most of the warm ups were at the other end.
 
Those AB fans down there are disgusting.

This is 2013, not 1976, and if you insist on living like it is 1976 have some class about yourself.

I don'tl them supporting NZ, but spitting is too much. I also wish that the booing would stop, from both sides.
