endless problems with HSDPA

Now with billing

If my merlin HSDPA card's LED is blue, I am connected via 3G, if my LED is Magenta i am connected via HSDPA. well I have 3G signal. good 3 bars on VMC, my LED is blue (connected 3G) , but i will still get charged HSDPA rates as i have a HSDPA card and not the lower 3G only rates.

any suggestions.

I want HSDPA.

But the card is giving me endless trouble. it now drops me in the middle of a session. and when i try to reconnect it gives me the 691 error about the telephn.ini file ect.

If vodacom cant sell a produt that works then i am taking back my card and canceling the contract. As i have been batteling with it since monday and i can t even do my banking.

I phoned 082 155 this is my refrence number A3-S27M-CZ2EI

I e-mailed V3G yesterday my issue.

and going to the vodacom shop now to se if they will give me another macke of card. and i hope this works

I believe there is a problem with the firmware on the Merlin U740 cards that causes it not to "report" the correct connect speed and/or LED colour. My U740 gives me a blue LED never seen the magenta colour, but I still get HSDPA speed, if you do speed tests and monitor the dashboard you should notice this.

i went to the vodashop,

First they tell me that the HSDPA cards do not work with the elain Pci adapter.

I finaly conviced them that it works and after a long argument apparently they cannot get any other type of card.

Just as i was about to tell them to cancel they gave me a number for the local technical guy. I phoned him and found out that some towers in this region are wating for telkom or something. ??? He also said he will e-mail me the new firmware for the merlin today.

So insted of running my business today. I upgraded my driver for the elain card from 4.0 - 8.0 then i fought with the constant disconnects and slow speed. informed vodacom's helpdesk that there coverage map is wrong. they came and did a signal test last year. and i have been working with normal 3G for a year so how can they now tell me i dont have coverage.

Then i encounter the telofonie.ini issue.

Now i pray i get the new firmware tonight. and get this stupid thing working.
