I want to know if a person got a HSDPA (nokia 6120C)cell will I get that speed if I use the cell as a modem.

Spamhater - Can you perhaps tell me how to do it? I have the exact phone model, and a new macbook pro. i can connect the phone to the mb via bluetooth very easily (i didnt get a usb cable with the phone), but cant get the phone to act as a modem? Dont know what "account" setting should be used?

Do i need to get hold of Vodacom and register or something? How much does the entire setup and use cost? Was hoping i could use my phone as a modem at no cost at all... Possible? Im going overseas and was curious about this whole phone modem thing.

Thanks

so I got my HSDPA (nokia 6120 C) cell phone connected via bluetooth to my computer I`m getting speeds of Download 1136kbps and upload 236 kpps not bad at all.:rolleyes:

AFAIK Bluetooth itself is pretty slow and can limit the max speed reached.
What speed do you get with USB ?

does that actually work:confused::D
Yes of course it can make a huge difference, the structures that separate outdoors from indoors [walls, ceilings, windows, doors, etc] all interfere with wireless signals, so moving a wireless transceiver to a position where it encounters less signal interference is generally considered a good idea.
