HSDPA E620 card cost

I've just come from MTNSP in morningside, now there something I don't quite get...

for R1400 and a 2 year contract at 10 bucks a month (R240 over the contract), you get the HSDPA data card, throw the contract sim away insert your prepaid and off you go for R1640, MTNSP however insists on selling the card for around R2400, surely the kick-back is nowhere near R800 for selling a R10 a month contract?

I'm not sure you got the right figures

There's a ProData USB Modem @R9,99 a month for 24 Months with a once off payment of R1249 and then there is the HSDPA modem on a MYCALL 100 package @R49 a month for 24 Months

It was displayed as an ad on the queing screen at MTN SP, R1399 for a 24 month contract on Prodata at R9.99/m, also confirmed by staff.

Contract : R1399 and R9.99 or R240 rental over the 24 months

Outright : R2400

I really don't get it?

Yeah, I'm leaning to buying the damn 9.99/m thing and popping in a prepaid.

I've started playing with v/mobile because of the reduced rate, but I'd like faster browsing because I stay and work in very good coverage areas.

However, I want prepaid because the bundles aren't as easy to manage on post-paid.

It's really quite crazy that prepaid can do bundles willy nilly, but the guy's who'd really like it (contract) can't
