Nailed it. Head to head there isn't much reason to choose an S4 over the One but Samsung is so in your face with their marketing that everyone knows their product and therefore more uninformed people will go with what they "know". HTC desperately need to up their marketing. The One Mini should be an extremely popular phone but I have never even seen an advert for it. I don't think any of our carriers even stock it. They do stock the One and I don't think I have seen an advert for that either, yet I can't watch TV, open a magazine or drive past a billboard without seeing the S4 or the Note 3 advertised.

Great phone but I won't buy it because the battery is built-in fixed. You cannot change or exchange it with a new one. This limits the lifespan of the phone. Once battery life has ended the phone has ended unless you're willing to spend to replace the built-in battery. Stupid..

Once you buy an HTC it's all awesome and all. 6 Months later there is no support or continued support. It's as if they do everything just to get you to buy their latest phone. Once you bought their phone they completely forget about you and could care less about you. (No continued software support or updates.. you are normally lucky if there are updates)

Besides the fixed battery and lack of SD card the biggest problem is support and accessories.

HTC seems dead in SA. Only the One and 8X are on sale in SA, and even those are hard to hold of.

I'd love another HTC, but I'll be switching to Sony, LG or Samsung in December.

Would love another HTC when I upgrade in a few months but there aren't any options and most def nothing on special.

Ingram Micro has become the official distributor for HTC in South Africa, they do have stock on a few HTC Models

I dont think so.
Samsung had a massive marketing budget for the S4, even their manufacturing had a forecast budget greater than any other release Samsung has ever had.

There was no way HTC could keep up, same with Sony.
I also expect the same next year with the S5.

OTA updates are still coming through for the One X, more than a year after its release. I must admit there's a lack of accessories, but I'm still glad I chose it over the S3.
