Does anyone know if there is an application that allows you to edit the contacts on your PC and then update them to the HTC phone (other than outlook which I cant seem to get to work anyway? )

Well you could use your sync your gmail contacts with your phone via a data connection (http://www.google.com/mobile/winmo/sync.html). Not quite sure if it'll transfer your existing contacts to the server or just delete them.

Alternatively if you just want to type the details using your computer keyboard, MyMobiler is an app that basically acts as a VNC/RDP client for your phone. It brings up a window on your desktop showing your (plugged in windows mobile) phones screen. You can then use your keyboard and mouse to interact with your phone.

I haven't had a problem using outlook, what isn't working for you?

The problem with outlook is I have a few hundred contacts in it for work. Suppliers, clients and so on... 99% of them, I dont want on my phone. So when I sync with windows mobile center, it grabs all of those over.

I'll try give mymobiler a try

Create a separate folder in Outlook for your phone contacts (a personal contacts folder not an exchange server one) and configure Activesync to only sync with that folder. I did this in my previous job and it works.

Tried something simular this morning and it copied all my details over to outlook, and I edited all of them but when I tried to sync back, it refused to do anything.

I'll try again on monday when I get back into work. For now, I've just bluetoothed all the contacts from the old phone instead of copying to sim first.
