Hi Guys

I did a search on the forum but couldnt find what i was looking for.

I have an HTC Desire with Android 2.2 and LeeDroid Rom. It is Rooted. I was wondering if anyone had any problems loading Gingerbread 2.3 onto theirs.

I found some articles about how to load it etc but i was hoping someone that has done theirs could let me know how they went about it successfully.

Thanks in advance.

I am on 2.3.4

Get a rom thats on the version you want and flash it like you did to get leedroid on your phone.

Thanks for all the info :D i will try it out tonight at home.

Did you do a backup with Clockworksmod? If so did it backup your contacts etc, i see it says it takes a complete snapshot of the device so i assume this includes Contacts Pictures music etc.

I just synced all my contacts to my gmail account. Only thing i lost was smses but who wants to keep em anyways

Sweet i will do that just incase. I have an app to backup sms and MMS so thats chilled although i dunno why i keep them rofl. :D

So Should I use the GSM 1.10.7 ROM for my HTC Desire ?

Mine was running 1.10.7 (Android 2.3.5) no problems. Its a dev phone so its not on one rom for more than a couple of days :)
My Desire HD is on MIUI for about 5 months and I can not get use to another, not with all the control and customization I get.

MIUI has its own back-up build in so I would recommend you dont go out buying a back-up app

Just use this for SMS's and This for calls

Then back up your applications with something like Astro or ES file manager. Note I will not bother backing up applications that you install from the market, I would install them from the market instead so that you continue to get update notifications.

Once done your SD card is safe so any pictures or crap on it should be fine.

Copy the MIUI rom onto your sdcard and boot into recovery and flash, using the "select rom" option. If you not rooted you should start from step 1.

Once done I would recommend installing Android Market(My Dropbox) app, I found the one that comes with the rom sometimes hangs so I copied the official app from my other phone.

well here goes.... installing now

Edit: Rooted my phone ages ago, using Clockwork Recovery v2.5.0.7

EDIT2: Rebooted, now the rotating earth with MIUI is going (repeatedly) .. for how long?!?

Forgot to mention, yes we on GSM network not CDMA.

And dont flash from the official site(http://en.miui.com/download.html) use the US one instead(http://romsmaster.miui.us/), if you do flash from official, remember to grab the English Language pack as well.

Some people prefer the UK English or AU ones instead http://miuiandroid.com/

Only reason I stick to US is that they normally better tested than the UK/AU roms

ag... man... she not working, just stuck on the logo. Now what?

What logo HTC or MIUI?

If its MIUI, make sure your ROM is complete ie: MD5 check

If its HTC did you have a custom radio?

If your prev rom had a custom radio you should flash your radio as well Found in http://bigota.d.miui.com/tools/g7_tools.zip

You flash it the same way as you would a normal rom
