HTC Desire cant sync!!!

My HTC Desire does not wanna sync with my laptop.
Any advice please,i did a check and it seems it is a MAJOR problem with nobody realy sure what to do.
Im running Win 7 32 bit.

Do you receive an error when you plug it in?

Is the Connect To PC option set to USB drive?

Does the charging LED turn on when you plug the phone in?

Have you installed HTC Sync?
