HTC Desire HD - No WiFi & PC connectivity

Ever since Saturday the Wi-Fi on my DHD stopped working. I get an error 'Unable to scan for networks'. I'm still on the stock rom Version 2.3.5. When I connect my phone to my PC it just charges, no options for disk drive, tethering, etc. I get a pop-up message on the PC 'USB device not recognised'.

So I done a reset. Same as before, still no Wi-Fi & PC connectivity.

I feel I must just take the phone into Vodacom and let them sort it out. But I know they will come back with all sorts of excuses like the phone has water damage so warrantee is void, or i see you dropped your phone so the warrantee is void, etc.

I must add I am using the phone 25 hours a day for just over a year now without any issues.

Any help?

Have you tried rolling it back?

Edit: My bad, forgot you said it is not picking up on KIES.

Take it to a Vodacare, tell them to update it for you & just say thanks. As you walk out the shop say "Hey, whats going on here? My wifi is not working & you better sort it out!"

:D

I finally took the phone to Vodacare yesterday. I got a message today to say my unit requires a higher level of repair and has been sent from Tygervalley to JHB for further assessment.

Now the waiting time for the return of my phone went from 24-48 hrs to 7-14 working days.

The phone has now been sent to HTC for some Advanced Repairs.
