It has a smaller battery than the Galaxy S (1500 mAh vs 1230 mAh). Also no front facing camera, not like it really matters, but still. The Desire HD has a superior aluminium unibody design.

Well the jury is still out regarding the screen tech, it seems fairly obvious the Galaxy S is going to take the crown at a canter. Some reports are saying the screen is an S-LCD while others say its just a regular TFT.

The Galaxy S comes with 8 or 16GB of internal memory and the Desire HD only 1.5GB.

Is that 1.5GB total internal memory, or only the application partition? The Samsung Galaxy S does have an 8GB internal SD, but only roughly 1.8GB is dedicated for applications (until FroYo at the end of this week!). The rest is for music, photos, etc... Of course, you then have the external SD to populate with loads more media.

That thing is HUGE. I'll hang onto my SGS it's actually also quite big ,but lite....

Unless they have seriously tweaked the phone in comparison to the Desire, 1230 mAh isn't going to be nearly enough. The Desire has 1400 mAh and the HD has a bigger screen and slightly faster processor...
