Just sync'd Facebook with my HTC Desire and it's pulled all of my Facebook friend's who list their phone numbers. I've tried unsyncing contacts but they are still in my phonebook? How do I take it off? Had an awkward conversation with an old primary school friend thanks to hitting their number accidentally.

Hahaha.. Under the People application, hit the Menu key, then select View. You should be able to untick Facebook there.

Funnily enough, I learnt to do this because I was getting irritated with the concept of both Phone and Google contacts. I've now set it up that I completely ignore Phone contacts in favour of the Google ones.... this way I can also mostly ditch the HTC Sync software entirely and just rely on one single repository for my contact info.

I did that and under People, they aren't there but if I push Phone they are in that list.

You can go to google's apps online and edit the contacts there - I've had to do the same.

Unless you remove your facebook for htc sense account, you cant get remove the contacts.

On the nexus one, you can sync it such that only your people contacts are synced to facebook. On the desire no such option as yet.

How do I get there? I've gone into Gmail Contacts but there are no links to Facebook there nor can I find anything in the other standard Google tools.

In my GMail, I went to 'Contacts', then selected 'All Contacts' - those included all my Facebook contacts as well. I went through those and deleted all the ones I didn't want.
