howzit everyone

who's using a custom rom on their htc desire 2.2?

im thinkin of rooting as internal memory is becoming a problem

need some advice
help and info

Yep, I do. I've tried just about all of them at one point or another. I ended up settling on Pays 2.2. Enjoying it very much :)
 
rooted last weekend for the same reason.... Leedroid - seemed the easiest. Root was painless - one click (almost).

If you want some noob advice after reading the wiki and xda thread shout.
 
On Leedroid, tried most of them as well and stuck with Leedroid. Will probably switch to HD Roms once somebody figures out the camera and its running nicely. Check my sig for the Leedroid thread on XDA.
 
A2SD+ is the best for me. No need to worry about anything, just install and enjoy, takes care of itself.
 
Using Leedroid. 2.2d A2SD+

Cant say i was blown away by it, but, using it anyway because i haven't been bothered to look for anything else.
 
Guys what about when I connect my phone in storage mode? will it work fine still?
And what if the memory card is not in the phone? will anything get corrupt? or will everything work besides apps that are on the ext partition

Hi there, please I really need to know if you have connected your phone to your PC via storage mode? to copy stuff or use usb tethering?
I've read memory cards getting corrupt if using a2sd+ and connecting to PC via storage mode
How big is your memory card? how many partitions do you have?
Ext 3 or 4 ?
That's my main concern now, my only reason for wanting to root is internal memory probs

Hope you guys can help me please

Connect my phone and set the phone to disc drive and i can see the memory card - no issues. No issues yet with the card corrupting - only time will tell.
4 Gb card, ext 3 (i think)
 
using Leedroid for 6 Months now.... Awesome, thinking of experimenting with some other roms now that I have some time.... Looking at some SenseHD Roms

Are you using a2sd+?
Do you connect your phone to your PC often? to copy music, videos etc etc and have you experienced sd corruption?

Hey man, yeah I am using EXT3 partition. And I have not had any problems while I copy stuff, or the card going crazy or anything. I bought a 16GB card, not sure what the other specs on it is though...

jus watin to hear about gingerbread

guys what if i want to go back to stock? unrooted stock htc desire rom?
how do i do that from the rooted rom? thats for when gingerbread is released for our desires'
 
There are ways to go back to stock if you like. And even when Gingerbread comes, I think it would still be better to stay rooted and run custom gingerbread ROMs anyway. Take it from me, once you root and get the freedom and see what you can do, you won't go back to stock for anything!

so once i root and install a rom
i wont able to use htc sync?
 
I have no idea, I don't use HTC sync at all, sync everything straight from gmail and use MyPhoneExplorer for everything else.
 
guys can you confirm if leedroid has a reboot option in the power button menu?
has anyone ever unrooted cause they had to send their phones back for warrenty repairs?

Yes it has reboot with the following options:

Normal
Hot restart
Bootloader
Recovery

Have not unrooted myself, have not had the need to but I have not read or heard of anybody having problems.
