I got this phone approxmately 5 months ago - what a seemingly great phone, but so many issues.

Restarts at least twice a day (usually when on whatsapp) read it is a manafacturers flaw, something to do with overheating, phone doesnt always feel hot when it happens.

Physical durability: Never dropped the phone on a hard surface yet its chippng everywhere (Yes my stupidity for having it in pocket wit keys etc but I found nokia weathered this just fine.

Internal speaker is buzzing: So whenever I use the phone to call someone it sounds like theres a bee in my ear.

GPS have never worked- just closes

I got this phone on a vodacom contract - and after calling them about 6 times to get it activated just gave up and put a pay as you go simcard in. Subsequently they have never charged me. I'm sure they wiill wake up at some point.

Well i have been using my Desire S for a good couple of months now and really enjoying it. I haven't experienced any of your issues. It has never restarted on me, and I use Whatsapp quite a bit. I have dropped my phone once, luckily it didn't get damaged, though I do have a cover. Call quality is brilliant, doesn't make a buzzing sound on mine. Seems like you got a faulty device, take it back to them and get them to sort it out.

got my desire S few months ago also
no issues at all which you describe
what software version are you on?
2.3.5 and sense 3.0?

Guess I am just unlucky- can't send it in until I catch up with vodacom (I don't think) lol

was just going to ask where you got it from
some desire s had a "faulty" emmc , i'd say send it back to vodacom,.they must give you another one. as what you are experiencing is not normal.
my desire S is just awesome.

LOL, OK sorry didnt read properly
enjoy the free phone then.
tried doing a hard reset?
Read my first post properly-

Never activated the contract sim card because vodacoms call centre sucks- (tried several times)
They have never charged me-

No but guess I should give it a shot - yeah free phone ftw, until vodacom says "where's my money bish - and hits me in the knees"
