Hey there,
My device switches itself on and off randomly, sometimes during a call. I am running the original OS it came with, v2.3.3. I have another HTC that hasn't given me a problem at all. I carry the phone using a magnetic pouch, could this be the problem?

Um....I seriously think you need to do a firmware upgrade, think the Desire S is now on Android 2.3.5 or 2.3.6?

Yeah, I saw that, but surely if this OS version came with the phone, it should work without problems.

As you said, it should work. What other apps have you installed ? Possibly a bug in one of those apps. Have you ever dropped or seriously damaged the phone?

Have dropped the phone sometimes, but not sure whether its seriously damaged?

These updates often fix bugs. Not saying it will fix it for you but its definitely worth a shot.

OK, thanks man, will give it a try. I didn't want to update to ICS because apparently its not an official update.
Yeah the ICS version still has a bug, perhaps try to go to the latest gingerbread instead if you are not keen on rooting (if it is a hardware issue you might want to have it checked out first, as rooting can void the warranty).

Is it still under warranty? Since its not rooted, you could take it back.
