HTC Desire Z slow after Gingerbread update

I updated my HTC Desire Z when the gingerbread update came out, but I'm not very impressed with it. I'm frequently getting that "loading" screen when switching between apps, and almost every single time I install or uninstall something. I have plenty of space left in internal memory, so it can't be a problem there. I suspect it's a problem with redrawing the UI.

Has anyone else experienced this? Is there a fix? Or, can I (easily) uninstall the update and go back to the previous version?
 
I have a similar problem. If I go out of apps to home screen, the home sense reloads with HTC logo.. very irritating. Read somewhere possible RAM issue.. Xda developers suggested using an app called LauncherPro from the android market .... but not much you can do if you want to keep your phone standard... very very annoying.

Post here if you found the solution please.
 
I may have found the solution - although it does need a bit more testing before I can declare it a definite success.

Try switching off Fast Boot: Menu -> Settings -> Power.
 
Yeah, seen that already..but sometimes like the fast boot option... probably uses too much RAM... but switching off fast boot definitely works for me.

Yes! That will sort out all your issues... Flash MIUI on a friend's DZ and it works B-E-A-yoooou-tifully.

Honestly, how often do you need to reboot the phone to make fastboot worthwhile? :confused:
