Hi.
I've just come back from an over seas trip where I got the chance to experience a HTC EVO 4G.

It is a really great phone, for video, Net, etc (it has a 4.3-inch screen). I was considering buying one overseas, however as its 4G, etc and also locked to Sprint I was unable to then use it here.

However I am now wondering with it being "4G" (I believe it is compatible with 3G, just don't quote me on that), will we ever see this phone in SA? Has anybody by any chance managed to get one, and does it work here?

The HTC EVO 4G is a CDMA device which is incompatible with our cellphone networks.
Unless they physically change the device to a UMTS device, it's not going to ever happen.
Also the 4G on it is Wimax and our providers are going to be using LTE instead.
