Does any one know if this will be available on the CellC network as a contract renewal?

I wouldn't mind an answer either - is this available in SA yet, through any network?

And is it really the best HTC phone or should I stick with something more traditional and practical like the Touch Pro 2?

Think it's available at MTN - my boss bought one for his wife. Must say that I still prefer my iPhone though - the screen on the HD is AWESOME but that's where it ends - functionality on the iPhone waaaaaay better (for me anyways)

The Google Nexus one is basically the same phone with Android.

I would prefer an iPhone too, it's just got better functionality like rapidblue said.

Yip, definitely prefer the iPhone. If I couldn't take an iPhone then I'd rather take the Nexus One or the Motorola Droid (Milestone) - both awesome Android phones
The HD has an awesome screen but when it gets down to actually using the phone the usability sucks - Windows Mobile is over complicated...
