HTC Hide number

Hi all please advise

i have the desire runing on froyo.
on a few occasions now i have tried to hide my number when making calls but it keeps on droping them.
meaning i can't make private calls on it any way i can bypass this little hicup?

Found out just this Friday that this is actually a MTN thing. I had a Vodacom sim in my iPhone4, with number hidden set to on. Stuck my MTN sim in the phone, and any and all calls would fail immediately. Eventually I figured it was the number hiding causing the problem. Phoned their help desk about it, and they said it was an extra (free) service that needs to be activated first.

damn , i am going to try and give em a call see if they can't help me out in that regard
not very smart of them to do that
