HTC Magic and recovery mode

Ok, I can't seem to boot my Magic into recovery mode, it just shows me a triangle with a exclamation mark in it with a little icon of the phone. All the buttons are disabled and the phone does nothing.

I have to take out the battery to get the phone to reboot into normal mode.

Does anybody know how to get into recovery mode with the magic?

I was looking at the 32B handset upgrade guide and it seems I have a 32A handset

Hi .

Just got my Magic yesterday . so far so good.
Only thing is when I opened it last night ( it was still sealed) there was no SD card in the box nor in the phone .did yours come with the card ? not too concerned about the card itself , just though i might be missing out on software or manuals already on the card itself.
If its a blank card then no worries. lemme know .

Mine came with a SD card and the manual was on the card. You should speak to your service provider or the shop you got the phone from about it.

Called them .. they reckon cant help since i didn't open it in store . implying probably that i lost it, broke it , or trying my luck...
But if its only the manual on there its cool. got that onlin.

Why can i access certain websits i.e. vodacom4me.co.za or facebook login.
i get a blank screen and a lock int the url ?

Um, maybe you had connection problems, can you access other sites like google?

all sites work fine except sites i have to log in. i'm sure its just a setting on the phone but i'm baffled as to where/what

Thats really odd, have you tried a different browser?

On my Magic I can log into sites with no problem.

not yet. havnt played with diff apps yet. just wanna get the basics sorted first.

Ok, well try installing a different browser from the Market and see what happens

works fine with opera. Dont fancy opera much but if i really have to go to one of those sites i'll use opera else its deafault browser. Ay suggestions fora better browser that explorer ?

I just use the default browser, it works fine for me

Found a solution in one of the threads ( lost it somehow ) ...
Its to do with https sites. someone suggested clear ip in vlive vpn setting.

I'm thinking about rooting my Magic ... if you did ... perhaps you wouldn't mind creating a simple how-to on rooting the Vodacom magic on my forum on www.androidza.co.za ... if not, then no problem ... but please let me know how you did it and which tutorials you followed.
